What do you expect? That I sum up my feelings? What can I say? That “Hjärtat slår” is on my top5 of Riddarna fav songs? That it is the first excerpt of “Under Jorden”, Riddarna third album that will be released on February the 12th? That you’d better get this record as soon as it will be officially out since it is the best one of the band so far and one of my favourite for many many months? Yeah, all of those statements are true. I confess I have loved Riddarna from the very first day I heard their “Rock n’ roll is dead” tune, back in 2009, when they were still unsigned and all. But I did not expect them to evolve that brilliant.
And I was wrong on something. I said recently Riddarna turned more pop. Well, it is actually more complicated. If they have kept their great energy and their stoner spirit, they have actually improved their ability to write strong melodies. I prefer not to say too much about the whole album though. I save it for later, for its release. Right now, just enjoy “Hjärtat slåt”, aka “The heart beats” in English and its chorus “the heart beats uneven strokes”…
